ASCOCENDA 'Suksamran Gold'

Cream - Golden Yellow flowers with violet webs and spots.

Ascocenda, abbreviated as Ascda in the hybrid orchid genus resulting from a cross between Ascocentrum and Vanda

Tips for Ascocenda Culture:

  • Ascocenda plants love sunlight and needs to be outdoors as much as possible. Transition from low light to high sunlight should be slow to avoid leave burns
  • The Ascocenda orchids do not have pseudobulbs and needs to be watered at least once a day. They can stay without water in cool climate conditions
  • Ascocenda flowers last long if they are not cut from the plants. As cut flowers they are short lasting.
  • Ascocendas need frequent feeds as they are 'heavy feeders'. Frequent fertilizing will improve their growth and flowering. They require high Nitrogen fertilizers
  • Ascocendas have long trailing roots as they are predominantly epiphytic (lives on trees). The absorb water from the air
